Irene has a background in pharmacy and 10 years of experience in neuroscience research, exploring experience dependent changes in neuronal activity in Dr. Loren Frank's lab at UCSF and in Dr. Ehud Isacoff's lab at UC Berkeley, where she earned her graduate degree.
Combining her scientific expertise with a passion for therapeutics, Irene volunteered in consulting for startups at Biotech Connection Bay Area before joining Putnam Associates as a consultant full-time. At Putnam, she developed solutions for commercial, value, pricing, and access challenges for world-leading pharmaceutical companies.

Tim has nine years of experience as a systems neuroscientist, including work in Cornell University’s Computational Physiology Laboratory and a recently completed PhD in Neuroscience at UCSF. In the face of limitations with existing methods, Tim has consistently devised tailored hardware and software solutions to address complex problems more effectively. Most recently, he pioneered a novel experimental paradigm and leveraged reinforcement learning algorithms to unveil new insights into how the brain predicts future reward (Krausz, et al., Neuron 2023).

Yuliang has 11 years of academic and industry experience in machine learning applications in biomedicine. At Verily Life Sciences, he led a computational biology team that use AI to drive drug and biomarker discovery in autoimmune diseases and diabetes by mining massive multiomic and multimodal data. He led multiple mission-critical projects end-to-end, from partnership engagement, study design to data pipeline and model development. At University of Washington, Yuliang had a joint faculty appointment in Computer Science and Medicine, collaborated with over a dozen experts across 8 departments, coauthored over 40 papers in stem cell, cancer, aging, and metabolism. Yuliang also co-invented multiple patents, some of which were licensed by startups from the university. Yuliang has a PhD in Chemical Engineering and MS in Statistics.

Calder has over nine years of experience in robotics and web application development across the biotech, medical device, and consumer electronics industries. At Enovix, as a robotics engineer, he designed and developed software solutions for high-resolution machine vision metrology applications. As a full-stack developer, to support the 10x production scale up, he created mission-critical data pipelines for battery test systems while ensuring the high availability of the Manufacturing Execution System.

Tom has over 15 years of industry experience building teams and technologies in aerospace, brain machine interfacing, synthetic biology and drug discovery/development. At Neuralink he built and co-led a group that developed and prototyped the next-generation neural interface. At Loyal as VP of Engineering, Computational Biology and Drug Development he directed multiple groups to execute the largest ever epigenetic study in dogs (covered in Axios and other outlets), developing the final formulation of Loyal’s lead molecule, writing the statistical plan for the first ever lifespan extension pivotal study and led multiple successful partnerships with established institutions and companies.

David has over 13 years of experience as a systems neuroscientist and biologist. His interest in systems biology led him to earn a PhD in Neuroscience at New York University and complete postdoctoral research at Harvard. During this time, he published more than 15 scientific articles and uncovered a link between oscillations in brain activity and glucose metabolism in the body (Tingley et al., Nature 2020).
